The Larry Joe Harless Community Center holds its Third Annual Back-to-School Bash last Friday. The event was attended by hundreds of students, parents, guardians and volunteers. In addition to free school supplies, students could get various health screenings, haircuts and resource information. The LJHCC also provided free pizza and an afternoon of swimming for those attending the event. On Saturday, Ruth’s Party in the Park held in Kermit, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., will provide free school supplies and other fun activities. That same evening, the Williamson Health and Wellness Center’s Back2School Bash in Williamson, starting at 6 p.m., will give students and their families an evening of pre-school year fun. Angie’s Hair Creations at Hardy, Kentucky, will offer free haircuts to Mingo and Pike students on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Little Dove United Baptist Church at Lenore will host its Annual Back To School Bash on Wednesday Aug. 7 beginning at 6 p.m. Also, on Wednesday, the Belfry Area School Administrators will host a free swim day at the Hardy Pool to give students one last splash before the school term starts.
