Local Scouts attend Camp Davy Crockett

Local Boy Scout Troop 321 recently attended summer camp at Camp Davy Crockett at Cherokee Lake near Rogersville, Tennessee. While there the scouts worked on earning their various merit badges, including swimming, canoeing, emergency preparedness, wilderness survival, archery and camping. During the final campfire ceremony, Troop 321 was recognized as an Honor Troop as well as awarded the Davy Crockett Troop of the Week plaque for exemplifying scout law and for showing scout spirit during the week. Scout Master Matthew Gilliam said more than 300 scouts from different parts of the country attended this year’s camp. Those Troop 321 scouts who attended were Max Gilliam, who earned the mile-swim patch, Garrett Spencer, Braydon Thacker, Alex Bucci, Samuel Fields, Ethan Collins, and Terry Vance. Assistant Scout Master Rachelle Starr-Collins also accompanied the scouts to Rogersville.
