Shawn Michael Muncy, 35, of Ragland, died Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Ragland.

He was born at Williamson, July 28, 1983, the son of the late Arthur “Butch” Muncy and Joanne Marcum Muncy.  

He worked for many years in maintenance at Walmart in South Williamson, Kentucky.  He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.  

He is survived by his brothers, Artie Muncy, of Gilbert, and Dwayne Muncy, of Delbarton; his sister, Kathy Diamond, of Ragland; his nieces and nephews, AD Muncy (Mikayla), Josh Muncy (Whittani Kirk), Brandi Mounts (Nathaniel), J.D. Muncy (Kristin) and Brandon Muncy (Sheena); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayden, Jaylin, Parker, Kooper and Cooper; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  

A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at the Regional Church of God in Delbarton with Rev. Mitchell Bias officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton.

Abraham Jared Russell Murphy, 26, of Charleston, died Friday, July 26, 2019, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, following a brief illness involving his respiratory system.

He was born at Williamson, May 13, 1993, the beloved son of Dennis Murphy, of Chattaroy, and Sherry Prince (James), of Turkey Creek, Kentucky.

He was employed by Area Wide Protection as a flagger in the construction industry. He was of the Pentecostal faith and his favorite pastime was gaming. He had the most vivacious personality. He was full of fun and loved to kid around and joke with everyone. He will be remembered for the kindness he showed others and his warm smile. He was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be affectionately remembered as a young man who meant the world to his family and his friends. Although his life was much too brief, he brought great joy into the world, and it is with joy that he will be remembered always.

He was preceded in death by a baby sister, Denise Mary Elizabeth Murphy; his maternal grandfather, Vernal Maynard; and his paternal grandmother, Francis Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Maynard; his paternal grandfather, Albert Murphy; his brothers, Joshua Murphy (Tabitha), Caleb Murphy (Stephanie) and Jacob Murphy (Leticia); his sister, Robin Jenkins (Jay); his girlfriend, Rikki Maynard; a very special aunt, Connie Moore; and six nephews, seven nieces and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at the Pentecostal House of Prayer at Pie, with Rev. Earl White officiating. Burial followed at the Maynard Family Cemetery, Millers Creek, with family members and friends serving as pallbearers. Arrangements were under the direction of Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson.

Darrell Stafford

Darrell Michael Stafford, 52, of Hanover, died Friday, July 26, 2019, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

He was born at Man, July 1, 1967,  the son of Darrell Stafford, of Hanover, and the late Calos Trent Stafford.

He attended the Hanover House of Faith Church, where he loved worshipping with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his companion, Jaquetta Trent.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his sisters, Cathy Gravely (Jeff), of Florida, Judy Bragg (David), of La Grange, Ky., Crystal Maynard (Rick) and Savannah Stafford (Michelle), both of Hanover; his nephews, Aaron Chase Goodman and Matthew Ethan Goodman; his very special nephew, Jessie Walker; his niece, Betsy Bailey; and a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Endicott officiating. Burial followed at the Walker Cemetery, Hanover. He was carried to his final resting place by: Jessie Walker, Cody Hurley, Ethan Goodman, Jeff Gravely, Jeremy Toler and Eddie Walker. Arrangements were under the direction of Mounts Funeral Home, Inc., of Gilbert.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
