Who: Mingo Central at Logan
Kickoff: Friday, Sept. 7, 7:00 p.m.
Coaches: Mingo Central, Josh Sammons. Logan, Gary Mullins.
Notes: Mingo Central was scheduled to take on Wayne last night, while Logan took on Sissonville.
The Miners opened the season with a 42-35 loss in Sammons’ first game as Mingo Central head coach.
Mingo Central held the lead, but couldn’t keep it against Point Pleasant.
The Miners looked to get their first win of Sammons’ career last night.
Quarterback Daylin Goad and the Miners offense looked sharp last week. Goad showed that he comes from the same kind of mold as former Miner quarterback Jeremy Dillon. Goad can both run and pass.
He has one of the top wide receivers in the state in Drew Hatfield. Hatfield is an electric playmaker for the Miners.
Mingo Central running back Devin Hatfield also showed that he can make things happen as well.
Mingo Central’s defense gave up 42 points, though.
The defense will try and tighten up against Logan.
Who 2 Watch: The Miner defense.
Mingo Central put up a lot of points the past two seasons, but the Miner defense was stingy.
Mingo Central’s defense gave opposing defenses nightmares just like their offense.
If the Miners want to leave Logan with a win, the defense can’t allow 42 points and feel confident about coming away with a big early season road win.
