The 9th Annual Kickin’ Butt for Crohn’s Jean Stanley Memorial 5K & 1-Mile Walk is set for next weekend, Friday, July 23, race officials said this week.
The race will be held at the Williamson Fieldhouse in West Williamson, beginning at 7 p. m.
Race officials said participants could register on the Facebook event page. Registration cost is $20; however, the registration fee increases to $25 on the day of the event. Race day registration begins at 5 p. m. and ends at 6:30 p. m. at the Williamson Fieldhouse.
Children ages 11 and under will be able to run the kid’s race (110-yard dash) for free, race officials said.
The 5K will be professionally timed, officials noted, and participants will receive a printout of their results.
All 5K and 1-mile walkers will receive a vintage event shirt, a custom stain glass finisher medal upon completion of the race, and an event wristband. The male and female first-place winners, along with second and third place finishers, will be awarded trophies.
First, second, and third place trophies will also be awarded to males and females in their respective age divisions, as well as the awarding of the typical “famous male and female last place trophies,” race officials said.
All proceeds generated by the race go to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
