The Williamson Farmer’s Market will open Saturday, May 30, according to Amy Hannah, director of the Mingo County Family Resource Network. The market is located on the corner of Harvey Street and Third Avenue in downtown Williamson. It will be opened each Saturday through the fall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Mobile Farmer’s Market will begin on Wednesday, June 3. The mobile market will be in Lenore every Wednesday during June, July and August from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
It will be in Matewan every Thursday of those three months. Special stops will be made in the Chapmanville/Logan area on June 5, July 10 and Aug. 7; Dingess on June 19; and Delbarton on July 17. All of the special stops are on Fridays.
The farmer’s market and the Mobile Market accept SNAP cards. Because of a special grant all SNAP benefits will have double the purchase power meaning if you spend $10 in SNAP benefits you will get $20 worth of produce, Hannah said.
