A Delbarton woman was arrested and charged with the theft of emergency medical supplies from an ambulance.
According to police, on March 19, Malinda Starr, 47, allegedly conspired with Mark Runyon to steal a First Out Bag and its medical supplies from a STAT ambulance near Day Starr Road.
Police said the bag was supplied with bandages, a pulse oximeter, a stethoscope, and glucometer, along with other medical supplies.
The supplies were valued at more than $1,000, police said.
Starr was arraigned by Magistrate Donald Sansom and formally charged with grand larceny and conspiracy.
As of presstime, no charges had been filed against Runyon.
The investigating and arresting officers were MCSD Deputies E. Williams and T. J. Justice.
In another case, a Red Jacket woman was arrested and charged with the theft of a car.
According to police, on April 5, the car’s owner stated that Brittany Lashay Akers, 24, took his 1997 Mercury Cougar without his permission. He further stated that Akers took the vehicle with no intention of returning it to him.
An officer found Akers and the car on Beech Creek, at which time Akers was arrested and transported to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Once at the MCSO, the officer said Akers admitted she had methamphetamine and a loaded Jennings .22-caliber pistol “concealed in her bra.”
She was arraigned by Magistrate Dave Justice and formally charged with grand larceny and altered pseudoephedrine.
The investigating and arresting officer was MCSD Deputy L. Thomas.
Also arraigned were:
Jonathan Claude Hannah, 39, of Crum, altered pseudoephedrine and obstruction.
Dexter Bailey Jr., 40, of Baisden, possession and intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of fentanyl, possession without a valid prescription, and maintaining a drug vessel (vehicle).
Terry Adkins, 29, of Best, Kentucky, battery on an officer, destruction of property, and obstruction (three counts).
Devon Chase Coleman, 18, of Matewan, obstruction, reckless driving, possession/delivery of a controlled substance, and no operator’s license.
Terry L. Baisden, 53, of Delbarton, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Aimee Baisden, 50, of Delbarton, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
Shawn Ferrell, 29, of Stopover, Kentucky, fleeing from officer.
